[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]I[/dropcap]n the aftermath of the Pathankot attacks and the way the saga is unfolding, it is becoming painfully clear that India under United Progressive Alliance (UPA) had committed some questionable decisions and these may also have an impact on national security. One such decision is the use of the same companies (De La Rue in UK and Louisenthal in Germany) as Pakistan to procure paper for printing Indian currency.
The fake currency finds its way into India from many of the neighboring countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand and UAE. The quality of the paper used in the currency note is so high that only another sovereign state can finance this. Knowing fully well that Pakistan uses the same two paper vendors, why did UPA buy from them? The other finalist Guisecke & Devrient (G & D) is the leading vendor of currency paper for several countries!
Subramanian Swamy, a Senior leader in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has written to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to follow up the reasons for UPA’s action and if there was any malfeasance (such as mis-invoicing) that took place. A copy of the letter along with the details is shown below:
