Around 20 TRS party workers came on bikes and stormed into Arvind Dharmapuri’s house over his remarks on MLC Kavitha Kalavkuntla

BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri‘s residence was attacked and vandalized by the workers of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Friday in Nizamabad over his remarks on MLC Kavitha Kalavkuntla.

Police picked up some of the accused and efforts are on to identify the other accused. The MP was not at home when the vandalism happened.

According to the police, about 20 TRS party activists suddenly came on bikes and stormed into Arvind’s house at the MLA Colony in Banjara Hills on Friday morning.

The party workers raised slogans against the MP for allegedly making negative remarks against TRS MLC Kalwakuntla Kavitha. The protesters stormed into the house and damaged the property. They damaged the window glasses, a parked car, and the furniture and set ablaze an effigy of the MP in front of the house.

The police have taken some of the accused in custody.

BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri on Thursday alleged that Kavitha, TRS MLC, and daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao called up Congress party president Mallikarjun Kharge and expressed her interest to join the party.

Addressing the media at state party headquarters in Hyderabad, Arvind had said that Kavitha took the decision due to unhappiness over her father.

Earlier, in January 2022, the BJP MP had alleged that he was attacked by TRS workers in Telangana. He said that TRS workers obstructed his convoy and broke the glass of his car.

Dharampuri had said, “My vehicle was stopped on the way, as expected. The TRS mob surrounded me and BJP karyakartas. TRS workers started pelting stones and injured many BJP Karyakartas. This entire incident was a planned conspiracy by the Telangana Police and TRS goons which and there is no safety here.”
