Three accused face cases linked to extortion, arms trafficking and a foiled Ludhiana grenade attack
Three fugitives linked to the Bambiha Gang have been deported from Malaysia and brought back to India, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Monday. The accused — Jaspreet Singh, Ajay Singh and Pawandeep Singh — were apprehended with the assistance of Malaysian authorities and have been sent to police custody.
The three are accused of involvement in multiple crimes, including extortion, cross-border arms and narcotics trafficking, and a foiled grenade attack in Ludhiana, according to officials. The deportation was secured through coordination between Indian agencies and Malaysian authorities.
Amit Shah highlights 51 deportations in 2026
Shah said Indian agencies have facilitated the deportation of 51 hardened criminals in 2026 alone, describing the latest action as part of the government’s efforts to bring fugitives operating from abroad back to India to face legal proceedings.
The development comes amid a broader crackdown on transnational organised crime and narcotics networks. Indian agencies have been working with foreign authorities to identify, apprehend and bring back wanted criminals who are allegedly operating from overseas.
