Wah Ji Wah: Loser Wahab and winner Hindus

While Newson has given Hindus a big victory, especially in California, it is not the time to go into hibernation, but to fight for dismantling caste-based laws everywhere

Hindus celebrate veto of California’s anti-caste discrimination bill

It is the day for Hindus to rejoice and celebrate everywhere and express their gratitude to California Governor Newsome for vetoing SB-403, an unjust caste-based discriminatory law. It targeted Hindus in California who constitute a significant workforce not only in high-tech industry but every respectable profession.

Just last month, California Senator Aisha Wahab, a champion of caste jihad and an Afghan American, had introduced the bill[1]. She managed to get it approved by state legislators 31-5. Not only did her dream dash but Wah-Wah Wahab made a fool of herself. One of her strong supporters was a Nepalese-origin graduate student, Pariyar, at California State University East Bay. “You cannot imagine the mental health, the trauma associated with this caste,” said Pariyar, who advocated for anti-caste discrimination[2].

The chief co-conspirator of SB-403 was, Thenmozhi Soundararajan, the founder of Equality Labs. She was instrumental in similar anti-caste discrimination laws passed by the California State University system and many institutions around the country. She claimed, “Certainly, one of the largest and casted communities is the South Asian community, which is why you’ve had so many South Asian people advocating for this bill.” Today, she must be restless and ashamed of her biggest defeat because she had already proclaimed, “Once we win California, the nation is next.” The nation may very well be ready to reverse many such caste-based decisions that squarely target Hindu Americans.

Today’s veto of SB-403 is the biggest gift to Hindus in North America and around the world celebrating October as Hindu Heritage Month. It has been big breaking news. One tweet called it a historic day.

“Delighted to see sanity in California,” said another tweet from CoHNA (Coalition of Hindus of North America). This tweet includes the letter signed by Governor Newsom which concludes with a statement, “This bill is unnecessary.”

Yet another tweet not only thanks Newson but suggests the involvement of dubious Khalistani and Jihadist organizations. I could not agree more because both organizations are attempting to divide Bharat. This tweet rightfully expresses collective gratitude to Hindu advocacy organizations and hundreds of individuals who got us the incredible victory.

While Newson has handed a big victory to Hindus, especially in California, it is not the time for Hindus to go into hibernation but continue to get such caste-based discriminatory laws dismantled everywhere. Perhaps, such actions in California institutions will be defunct with the Governor calling such acts unnecessary. The shameless Equality Labs may very well go into hiding for some time but we must constantly watch the activities of its founder Soundararajan. Her wide network will continue to spread the anti-Hindu caste jihad wherever she can.

The Hindu community in the United States has a lot to be thankful for and they should express their unfailing gratitude to a large number of Hindu activists in California. It is their strong unity, determination, and dedication that brought us the victory and a defeat for Wah-Wah Wahab. Who knows if the underdog Wahab may strike back again.

California Hindus aided by grassroots advocacy groups like CoHNA and Hindu America Foundation have proved beyond any doubt that unity and continuous advocacy through public demonstrations and social media can make a difference. We must rejoice in our victory but not underestimate the efforts of hundreds of volunteers in persuading and influencing Governor Newsom to veto a Bill approved with a very strong vote.

The failed Bill SB-403 is a strong victory for the truth- Satyamev Jayate.
