Why do the Private Medical Colleges hate NEET? Are they funding CJP?

The NEET Math: 75% Reserved, 25% for Sale

There are approximately 400 (373 as of date) Medical Colleges in India. Most of these are owned by Politicians. And they used to make a killing, charging up to Rupees 2 crore per seat per year. One famous College, run by an MGR associate, charged a premium because of its reputation! But all these have come crashing down! Why? One word – NEET.

What is NEET? National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. A common entrance exam for all Medical Colleges in India. It took shape around 2012, and once it became official, the rules of admissions to Medical Colleges changed. Especially for the Private Medical Colleges. Why?

All colleges had to set aside 75 percent of the seats for NEET applicants, split as 50 percent for in-state and 25 percent for out-of-state. This left only 25 percent for the owners of the Private Medical Colleges (Politicians). On top of that, the fees that can be collected from NEET applicants cannot exceed Rupees 5 lakh per annum!

Then how to make money? Sell the 25 percent seats to Non-Resident Indians for exorbitant prices. This explains why states like Tamil Nadu are opposed to NEET, including the Joseph Vijay Govt. They want it all!

For those in India, a high rank in the NEET Exam is extremely desirable. Hence, coaching colleges and buying papers before the exam, for prices of 10-20 lakhs per paper!

But with the Independence Day announcement, the Modi Government has dealt a fatal blow to coaching colleges. This will be available for free.

Good article. Anti-Private medical colleges agitations are brain washed by PGURUS !!! :):):) There are many private engineering colleges to also having zero admission should be winded off. Private colleges of every time are all sources of black money for politicians

The NEET has destroyed the financial model of the private medical colleges who were more interested in churning out students with no regards to quality. Just as the grain brokers and traders funded the farmers the private colleges could be funding the student agitations.
