Will we ever know the real reason for Omarosa’s abrupt firing?
Omarose Onee Manigault Newman, well known as Omarosa, made her first appearance in ‘The Apprentice’ an American television reality show and thereafter there was no looking back for her. She also appeared in many other reality shows like The Celebrity Apprentice and Celebrity Big Brother etc.,
In December 2017, Omarosa was forcibly asked to resign by the chief of staff, John Kelly due to integrity issues (misusing the government vehicle services)
Omarosa used to be the biggest fan of Donald Trump and have been working together from ‘The Apprentice’ time and she was named as Director of African-American Outreach for Donald Trump’s Presidential Campaign in July 2016.
Being one of the firm defenders of the President she once quoted in a television interview “Trump is too real for the Republican Party “and was also heard telling that “Every critic, every detractor, will have to bow down to President Trump” (Link to the video below).
She joined White House Staff (in Jan 2017), as an assistant to the President and Director of Communication for the Office of Public Liaison and was overwhelmed with this appointment. She reportedly referred to herself as “Trumplican” in one of the interviews.
In December 2017, Omarosa was forcibly asked to resign by the chief of staff, John Kelly due to integrity issues (misusing the government vehicle services). To avoid any legal trouble, she resigned from her post and also claimed that she was not given a chance to speak to the president.
And here comes the unexpected move by Omarosa, where she made the recordings of her conversation with John Kelly public, when she was fired (link below of the recording shared with US channel). During one of her interview, she also justified her action by saying, “if the recording wasn’t there, no one would believe her” and she doesn’t regret recording the tapes in Whitehouse.
Trump, his White House team, and the Republican National Committee are blasting Manigault Newman because of her immaturity of recording tapes in White House and releasing them in public
Omarosa has recently released her new book named “Unhinged” in which she shares her experience at White House and is very critical about Trump . Some of the allegations are given below:
- Trump has used the N-Word multiple times at the set of ‘The Apprentice’ and is also said to have witnesses.
- Although she always considered Trump has her Mentor (who helped shape her career), she writes; Trump’s Mental health is deteriorating and hence, unfit to be the President.
- Claims that Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump tried to buy her silence by offering to work during the 2020 presidential campaign.
- Trump got Omarosa to drop legal action against National Enquirer’s parent company.
Below is the link to her interview with The Guardian where she is talking about her book and Trump.
In her reply to the allegations, Sarah Sanders, the White House press secretary issued a statement saying that book Unhinged is “riddled with lies and false accusations” and also accused Omarosa of “trying to profit off these false attacks”
After all the name calling by Omarosa, Trump gave his statement on twitter saying that he had heard his aide was performing poorly in her job and constantly missed the meeting and this was the reason for firing her from the duties in Whitehouse.
Trump, his White House team, and the Republican National Committee are blasting Manigault Newman because of her immaturity of recording tapes in White House and releasing them in public. This also poses the question about National Security since, the tapes were recorded in the situation room, which is meant to be secured.
Trump’s hire and fire business have backfired on him in a worse possible manner, the abrupt firing of Omarosa has left the White House in a terrible situation.
Not sure, if we will ever know the real reason why Omarosa was fired, but this incident has proved that sensitive issues such as these needs to be handled with utmost care else there would be more such situations where government actions would be questioned?
