CM Yogi directs officials to chalk out plans to compile history of villages, cities
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked mayors of various states to celebrate their cities and highlight their unique characters, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to chalk out plans to compile the rich history of villages and cities in the state.
According to a government spokesperson, CM Yogi Adityanath has directed the Rural and Urban Development departments to chalk out plans to celebrate ‘Gram Diwas’ and ‘Nagar Diwas’ respectively on lines of Uttar Pradesh Day.
The Chief Minister has also sought compilation of data to document the rich legendary, historical and cultural history of cities and village panchayats in the state.
“Every village, every city has its own story of settlement, and it should be written down,” the spokesperson said.
Earlier PM Modi said, “We should preserve the old and adapt to the new. Varanasi is a perfect example of this. This ancient city has not cast aside its ancient character but has also woken up to a new Kashi by adopting technology and new ideas.”
PM Modi also said, “We should celebrate river festival in our city for 7 days every year. Add the whole city to it. In this festival, the focus should be on the cleanliness of the river, its specialty.”
