
PM Modi calls for global participation as over 300 pavilions and 500 sessions mark one of the largest AI gatherings in New Delhi
As India prepares to host the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the event reflects the talent and capabilities of the country’s youth and highlights India’s rapid strides in science and technology.
Calling it a matter of pride, the Prime Minister said people from across the world are coming to India for the summit, underscoring the nation’s growing influence in artificial intelligence and innovation.
“This occasion is further proof that our country is progressing rapidly in the field of science and technology and is making an important contribution to global development,” he said in a post on X.
In another message, Modi emphasised how artificial intelligence is transforming multiple sectors in India and expressed confidence that the summit will enrich global discourse on diverse aspects of AI. He said the event would help shape a future that is “progressive, innovative and opportunity-driven.”
Highlighting India’s strengths, he noted that the country stands at the forefront of the AI transformation, citing digital public infrastructure, a vibrant startup ecosystem and cutting-edge research as key drivers.

Mega global participation
The AI Impact Summit 2026 will be held from February 16 to 19 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
The event is expected to witness participation from around 600 startups and institutions. Thirteen countries — Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan and Africa — will set up pavilions at the expo.
The summit is themed around three “sutras” — people, planet and progress — and aims to bring together global leaders to exchange ideas on artificial intelligence.
According to the government, more than 300 curated exhibition pavilions will be showcased at the venue, with an estimated footfall of around 2.5 lakh visitors.
Over 500 sessions will be organised during the summit, featuring about 3,250 speakers and panelists. Leaders and delegates from around 20 countries are expected to attend, including French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and UAE President Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The summit is being positioned as one of the largest AI-focused global gatherings, underscoring India’s ambition to play a central role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence.
