VPVV Techno under fire for alleged Rs.700-crore fake weapon export fraud
Cheated investors of Delhi-headquartered VPVV Techno Construction Pvt. Ltd has approached the Kerala High Court seeking a CBI probe. The investors also filed a complaint with the Delhi Police Commissioner to probe the company for creating fake contracts with the United States government. The Nagpur-registered company VVPA is operating in many states and has cheated investors of more than Rs.700 crore by presenting fake US contracts to export weapons to the US Army and Navy, and even fabricated documents about the Indo-US trade agreement and the US President’s orders on weapon exports from India.
Last year, the VPVV Techno launched a unit in Tamil Nadu, claiming it was an Indo-US joint venture. The Week Magazine reported the mega fraud in detail, done by VPVV Techno, which published a fake Indo-US deal in a Delhi press.[1]
The Embassy of India in Washington has confirmed that Delhi-based company VPVV Techno Construction Pvt. Ltd has printed fake documents of the Indo-US weapon export deal. In a recent reply to the cheated investors from India, the Embassy said that there was no such deal between India and the US and added that the queries about the fake company VPVV Tencho were forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs and the Union Home Ministry.
“Government of India, in coordination with the Government of the USA, has not entered into, recognized or acknowledged any treaty, agreement or initiative titled ‘Indo-US Pacific Peace Treaty’, said the Embassy in a recent RTI reply. The Nagpur-registered company VPVV Techno is working in many states and has cheated more than Rs.700 crore from investors by showing fake US contracts to export weapons to the US Army and Navy, and even created fake documents about the Indo-US trade agreement and the US President’s orders on weapon exports from India.
Kerala Police had recently registered four FIRs and arrested the Vasant Vihar-headquartered company’s promoters Venkita Venkat, Aqeel Ahammed, and Rajan Malik. Recently, many accused got bail from the Kerala High Court, and another absconding promoter, Dhanush Pandey, known as Doctor Sahib, is facing a new case for using fake identity documents to get bail from the High Court.
Kerala Police said that the fraud promoters created a fake Indo-Pacific trade deal, an Indo-US trade deal and “Q Clearance Bag”, which is signed by the US President, at a printing press in Ramesh Park in East Delhi. The cheated investors alleged that the promoters, who got bail recently, conducted a press conference in Delhi on June 5 and claimed that the Delhi Police Commissioner had given them a clean chit.
The cheated investors have filed a complaint with the Delhi Police Commissioner to probe the company for creating fake contracts with the United States government. “During the press conference, the above persons (promoters Venkit Venkat, Aqueel Ahamed and Rajan Malik) stated that the Delhi Police Commissioner had given a clean chit to the company and that the allegations raised by victims and complainants were false. Such statements appear to be completely untrue, misleading, and calculated to create a false impression among investors and members of the public that the company has been officially exonerated by law enforcement authorities,” said the investors who were cheated out of more than Rs.700 crore by investing in a shell firm, VPVV Techno Construction. The fake weapon export deal to the US claimed that America had agreed to buy Rs.83,000 crore from VPVV Techno.
“The materials presently available disclose allegations of a serious and organised fraud affecting a large number of investors across multiple States, involving the alleged misuse of the National Emblem of India, unauthorised use of symbols and insignia associated with governmental authorities, and representations relating to defence and strategic projects purportedly connected with foreign governments,” said the investors in a detailed nine page complaint showing the fake claims of promoters with many Union Ministers and US Navy submarine training photos by the promoters.
The company’s other directors, Hitesh Kumar, Rahul Rajeev Nair, Rajan Pradeep Kumar Prabhakaran, and Vinod Rama Warrier Kumar, are also on the police radar for cheating many investors across India by printing fake US documents. The company promoters claimed that the US government has approved them as “principal developer’ of defence equipment to be manufactured in India and exported to the US. These directors have created a web of more than 15 benami companies, mostly registered in Nagpur, said the police, adding that these companies are operating in Jaypee Vasant Continental Hotel, Vasant Vihar in Delhi.
