ED takes big action against Sonia Gandhi & Rahul Gandhi

The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday temporarily sealed the office space of the Young Indian (YI) company in the Herald House, in Delhi, the headquarters of the erstwhile National Herald newspaper. The seal was put in order to “preserve the evidence” which could not be collected as authorized representatives of YI were not present during the raids that were launched on Tuesday, said ED officials.

The rest of the offices in the building and the office of the National Herald is open. From 2011 onwards, Passport Seva Kendra Offices is working at Herald House and by this renting out to the government, the defunct newspaper’s publisher Associated Journal Limited (AJL) is earning Rs.87 lakh per month.[1]

A notice affixed under the signature of the ED investigating officer outside the YI office space said it cannot be opened “without prior permission” from the agency. Officials said the ED team had emailed the summons to the principal officer/ in-charge of YI, which is senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, seeking their attendance to open the cabins for it to carry out raids but they have not received any response, so far.

Kharge, the leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, had visited the Herald House building on Tuesday evening along with party colleague Pawan Bansal but he left and the search could not be conducted, they said. As and when the authorized person (for YI) presents themselves for concluding the search, the seal will be lifted, officials said. A huge number of police personnel were posted on Wednesday evening at Congress Head Quarters, President Sonia Gandhi’s home, and Rahul Gandhi’s home areas.

ED on Tuesday raided Herald House, the head office of the Congress party-controlled erstwhile National Herald newspaper in Delhi, and 11 other locations as part of an ongoing money laundering investigation. Ed also conducted raids at National Herald’s offices in Lucknow and the Doltex, the shell firm belonging to the RPG Group in Kolkata, which paid Rs. One crore to the Young Indian via Congress in a dubious way.[2]

  1. Message is clear, leave India, as it is, where it is, else spend rest of life in jail….. unfortunately, What Italian bar maid can do after years of opulence & comforts at age of 72 years ? Kid has never grown up & is incorrigible & jobless. Where to go Russia / Italy ? Undecided. So the drama continues for some more years.
