Arvind Kejriwal takes cognizance of misbehaviour with Swati Maliwal; will take appropriate action
After a day’s silence, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) admitted that their Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal was assaulted by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Private Secretary Bibhav Kumar at Chief Minister’s residence. AAP leader Sanjay Singh on Tuesday told the media that Swati Maliwal was assaulted by Bibhav Kumar in the drawing room of Kejriwal’s residence. Singh said that Kejriwal has taken cognizance of the incident and will take action soon.
“Yesterday, a condemnable incident took place. Swati Maliwal had gone to Arvind Kejriwal’s residence to meet him. While she was waiting for him in the drawing room, Bibhav Kumar allegedly misbehaved with her. Chief Minister Kejriwal ji has taken cognizance of the matter, and he will take appropriate action,” says AAP MP Sanjay Singh.

However, Sanjay Singh kept silent on the oral complaint given by Swati Maliwal on Monday before the Delhi Police about the incident. As she had complained to the police control room, visited the police station and orally mentioned about the incident, Delhi Police can register a case.[1]
Swati Maliwal is keeping silent and has not yet given a written complaint. She is not in the good books of the AAP cadre due to her stony silence after Kejriwal was arrested in a liquor scam. Bibhav lost his temper when she insisted on meeting Kejriwal and there occurred arguments and the physical attack happened, say AAP leaders.
The question is will Swati Maliwal proceed with her complaint or will Delhi Police suo moto register a case? Or Swati Maliwal will patch up? A few years ago, Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash was attacked by some AAP leaders at Chief Minister Kejriwal’s residence over the difference of opinion of issuing huge advertisements in media.
