A 24-year-old woman from Nagpur, whose husband serves in the Indian Air Force, has accused a former classmate and his associates of rape, blackmail, extortion, black magic and forced religious conversion. Police have arrested two men in connection with the case and launched a search for a cleric allegedly involved in the conversion ritual.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ayaaz Madare and his associate Ameen Shaikh. A police team has also been sent to Madhya Pradesh to trace a maulana named in the FIR.
According to the complaint, the woman met Ayaaz Madare at a hotel on February 8, 2025. She alleged that her drink was spiked and that she later discovered objectionable photographs and videos had been recorded without her consent. The accused allegedly used the material to blackmail her, threatening to share it with her husband and on social media.
The woman claimed she was repeatedly sexually assaulted and extorted of nearly Rs 4 lakh.
A viral video linked to the case has emerged as a crucial piece of evidence. In the footage, the woman is seen crying and pleading to be released while the accused allegedly holds her and chants religious verses. Investigators are examining the video as part of the ongoing probe.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that the accused repeatedly forced her to consume a liquid substance before performing rituals that he described as hypnosis or black magic. She claimed these acts were followed by sexual assault.
The FIR further states that on May 31, the accused allegedly took her to Kalmeshwar, where a cleric from Madhya Pradesh conducted religious rituals and forced her to utter phrases associated with a conversion ceremony. The woman alleged that she was declared converted against her will and told that a nikah had been performed.
She also alleged that she was forced to consume meat, recite religious verses and was subsequently sexually assaulted again.
Police have registered offences related to rape, repeated sexual assault, extortion, criminal intimidation, forced religious conversion and provisions of the anti-black magic law.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Suresh Reddy said electronic devices seized during the investigation are being sent for forensic analysis and that the evidence recovered will play a crucial role in the case.
Authorities said a thorough investigation is underway and further action will depend on the findings of the ongoing probe.
