Al Qaeda-inspired terror module dismantled
The Delhi Police have successfully uncovered and dismantled a terror module allegedly inspired by Al Qaeda. The operation, which saw collaboration from police forces across Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, resulted in the arrest of 14 individuals believed to be connected with the group.
According to a Delhi Police statement, the terror module was led by Dr. Ishtiyaq from Ranchi, Jharkhand. The group was reportedly planning a series of high-profile terrorist attacks aimed at establishing a ‘Khilafat‘ within India.
The operation was launched following critical intelligence inputs, which revealed the module’s intentions and locations. The collaborative effort between the Delhi Police and state forces proved crucial in uncovering and neutralizing the threat.
The arrested members were found to have undergone extensive training, including in weapon handling, at various locations. The coordinated effort to neutralize this threat highlights the ongoing vigilance and effectiveness of law enforcement agencies in countering extremist activities.
During the crackdown, six suspects were caught in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, where they were undergoing weapons training. Additionally, eight individuals were arrested from Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh for further questioning. The police have recovered various arms, ammunition, and literature linked to terrorist activities.
Delhi Police officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and further arrests are anticipated as raids continue.
