Fresh Delhi Police case deepens VPVV Techno fraud investigation
Delhi Police on July 30 registered a case against controversial company VPVV Techno Constructions Pvt Ltd, caught for printing fake documents of Indo-US defence exports. The case is registered at Vasant Vihar Police Station on a case filed by a cheated investor, Madhu Nambiar. The cases are registered against the company and main promoters Venkita Venkat, Aqeel Ahammed, and Rajan Malik under sections of 318 (cheating), 336 (forgery of documents), and 342 (counterfeit) of BNS, said Delhi Police officials.
Other persons of VPVV Techno named by the Delhi Police FIR are: Hitesh Kumar, Rahul Rajeev Nayar, Chief Patron Dr. Saab (real name is Thanush Pandya), Sumitha Sudhakar, Venkita Venkat’s personal assistant Mansi Malabar, Gopika Raaj, Padmaraj, Rajeev Krishna, Abhinav Paul, said police officials.
A few weeks back, the Kerala High Court issued notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Union Home Ministry and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to reply on the petition seeking CBI probe into the activities of the controversial company VPVV Techno Constructions Pvt Ltd, caught for printing fake documents of Indo-US defence exports. The petitioner, A Harikrishnan, alleged that VVPS Techno committed fraud by claiming that they got an export order from the United States worth Rs.83,000 crore to deliver weapons for the US Army and Navy by producing fake documents and cheated many investors across India of more than Rs.700 crores.
The High Court’s single Bench of Justice G Gireesh also ordered Kerala Police to submit the status of the investigation. The next hearing is scheduled on August 18. The High Court has also issued notice to the Directors of the fraud company VPVV Techno caught for printing fake Indo-US arms deal contracts and cheating investors. The petitioners’ main demand was for CBI takeover of the investigation by Kerala Police, as the scam is involving many states and ramifications on an international level. The accused persons are based in Delhi and Nagpur, and a CBI probe is ideal, argued the petitioner.
Kerala Police had recently registered four FIRs and arrested Delhi’s Vasant Vihar headquarters-based company’s promoters Venkita Venkat, Aqeel Ahammed and Rajan Malik. Recently, many accused got bail from the Kerala High Court, and another absconding promoter, Thanush Pandya, known as Doctor Saab, is facing a new case for using fake identity documents to get bail from the High Court.
The Embassy of India in Washington has confirmed that Delhi-based company VPVV Techno Construction Pvt. Ltd has printed fake documents of an Indo-US weapon export deal. In a recent reply to the cheated investors from India, the Embassy said that there was no such deal between India and the US and added that the queries about the fake company VPVV Tencho were forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs and the Union Home Ministry.
Kerala Police said that the fraud promoters created fake Indo-Pacific trade deal, Indo-US trade deal, and “Q Clearance Bag”, which is signed by the US President from a printing press in Ramesh Park in East Delhi. The cheated investors alleged that the promoters, who got bail recently, conducted a press conference in Delhi on June 5 and claimed that the Delhi Police Commissioner has given them a clean chit.
The company’s other directors, Hitesh Kumar, Rahul Rajeev Nair, Rajan Pradeep Kumar Prabhakaran and Vinod Rama Warrier Kumar, are also on the police radar for cheating many investors across India by printing fake US documents. The company promoters claimed that the US government has approved them as “principal developer’ of defence equipment to be manufactured in India and exported to the US. These directors have created a web of more than 15 benami companies, mostly registered in Nagpur, said Police, adding that these companies are operating in Jaypee Vasant Continental Hotel, Vasant Vihar in Delhi.
