TCS clarifies ‘no internal complaint’, sets up oversight panel in Nashik case
Amid an ongoing police investigation into allegations of religious conversion and sexual misconduct at its Nashik unit, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Friday said it had not received any complaints through its internal mechanisms.
In a statement, the company said,
“A preliminary review of the systems and records pertaining to the Nashik unit indicates that we have not received any complaints of the nature that are being alleged on either our ethics or POSH (prevention of sexual harassment) channels,”
TCS also clarified that Nida Khan was not serving as the HR head, countering some earlier reports, and announced the formation of an oversight panel along with the engagement of external entities to support the internal probe.
The oversight committee will be chaired by finance industry veteran Keki Mistry, an independent director on the company’s board.
Police action and allegations
Police have so far arrested seven employees, including six men and a woman HR head, while key accused Nida Khan remains absconding.
The case first came to light after a woman accused a colleague, Danish Sheikh, of entering into a physical relationship with her in 2022 under the false promise of marriage, despite being already married.
According to police, Nida Khan—allegedly related to the accused—made derogatory remarks about the complainant’s faith and attempted to pressure her to convert. Investigators have also alleged that certain individuals concealed facts about the accused’s marital status.
As the probe progressed, several more women came forward with similar allegations, claiming mental and sexual harassment by senior colleagues, along with alleged inaction by the human resources department.
The incidents are reported to have occurred between February 2022 and March 2026.
Search for absconding accused
A Crime Branch team of the Nashik Police on Friday reached Mumbra in Thane district to trace Nida Khan and questioned her husband regarding her whereabouts.
Meanwhile, TCS has suspended all employees linked to the case and reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on workplace harassment, stating that it is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
