A tragic landslide in Mehsana district, Gujarat, has claimed the lives of at least seven workers during construction at the Steel Inox Stainless Company in Jasalpur village. The incident occurred when a portion of a wall unexpectedly collapsed, trapping several laborers beneath the rubble.
Rescue operations were promptly initiated, with five ambulances dispatched to the scene to assist in the efforts. Eyewitnesses reported that workers were actively engaged in construction when the landslide struck.
Inspector Prahaladsinh Vaghela of the Kadi police station confirmed that seven bodies have been recovered, but fears persist that three to four additional workers may still be trapped under the debris. “Rescue operations are ongoing,” he stated.
Heavy machinery, including JCBs, has been deployed to facilitate the search and rescue efforts. Injured workers have been transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment, as investigations into the cause of the collapse continue.
Authorities remain focused on ensuring the safety of any remaining individuals and are working diligently to uncover the factors that led to this tragic event.
