Fast forward to the present, Dr. Subramanian Swamy, speaking at the University of Delhi on January 9, 2016 laid out a detailed roadmap to the NDA Government for building the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. In parallel, the Supreme Court has been hearing Dr. Swamy’s plea to “re-build” Ram temple at the Ramjanmabhoomi site where kar sevaks destroyed Babri Masjid in 1992. This was being heard by the Supreme Court along with appeals challenging a 2010 Allahabad High Court decision fixing the exact birthplace of Lord Ram at the disputed Ayodhya site.
On April 5th, the Supreme Court asked the principal stakeholders to come together to arrive at an amicable solution for building the Ram Mandir. The Court further requested Dr. Swamy to contact everyone involved in this case and bring them together for a day-to-day hearing on this case.
