Operation Sindoor marked a new phase in India’s anti-terror strategy

India on Thursday delivered a sharp message to Pakistan and terror networks operating across the border, with senior military commanders asserting that Operation Sindoor demonstrated the country’s growing ability to carry out accurate, high-impact strikes while maintaining strategic restraint.

Addressing the media in Jaipur on the anniversary of the operation, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai said the mission was not merely a one-time response but part of a larger and continuing campaign against terrorism.

“Operation Sindoor was not an end. It was just the beginning. India’s fight against terror will go on,” he said, underlining India’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and national security with professionalism and precision.

The remarks reinforced the message that India’s counter-terror posture has evolved significantly, with the armed forces now capable of carrying out calibrated operations deep inside hostile territory using advanced long-range strike systems.

Vice Admiral AN Pramod highlighted the strategic impact of the operation, stating that India’s use of precision-guided weapons against terror infrastructure inside Pakistan exposed the limits of “nuclear blackmail” and showcased New Delhi’s readiness to respond decisively to security threats.

He said recent conflicts around the world had accelerated the importance of drones, autonomous platforms and modern battlefield technologies, adding that India was rapidly integrating such capabilities into its military doctrine to stay ahead of adversaries.

The vice admiral also praised India’s growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing, pointing to the performance of indigenous naval platforms such as INS Vikrant along with the Kolkata-class and Visakhapatnam-class destroyers.

According to the commanders, the operation underlined not only India’s military accuracy but also the effectiveness of domestically built defence systems in enhancing operational readiness across land and sea domains.

Issuing a stern warning against future provocations, Vice Admiral Pramod said India’s next response, if challenged again, would be even more forceful.

“If Operation Sindoor was proof of calibrated resolve, our next response will be about sustained overmatch. If challenged again, we will not merely respond — we will shape the battle space from the outset,” he said.

The anniversary event ultimately served as both a reminder of India’s expanding military capabilities and a clear signal that future acts of terrorism would invite swift and precise retaliation.
