President of doctors association, cop, among 4 employees dismissed from service on charges of anti-national activities

On Wednesday, the Jammu and Kashmir administration dismissed four of its employees for anti-national activities. “The dismissal of these government employees follows their involvement with the forces that work against India by spreading malicious propaganda,” officials said.

Invoking Article 311 (2) (c) of the Constitution, the J&K administration dismissed four employees including police constable Abdul Majid Bhat, laboratory bearer Ghulam Muhammad Rather in the higher education department, teacher Farooq Ahmad Mir, a teacher with the education department and Dr Nisar ul Hassan, associate professor, medicine, at Government Medical College in Srinagar.

Dr Nissar-ul-Hassan is the president of the Doctors Association of Kashmir (DAK).

Interestingly, the termination order of Dr Nisar ul Hassan was issued on the same day by the General Administration Department, when his parent department of Health and Medical Education issued his promotion order as an Associate Professor.

The process of dismissal of government employees was started in J&K in 2022 when the UT government forced a committee that was empowered to investigate allegations of government employees’ involvement in anti-national activities.

The committee was empowered to recommend the dismissal of such employees from government service.

The orders issued by the administration stated that J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha was satisfied that after considering the facts and circumstances of the case and based on the information available that their activities are such as to warrant their dismissal from service under Article 311 (2) (c) as the activities of these employees warrant their dismissal from services, without any enquiry.

So far, 50 government employees, against whom the committee found sufficient evidence, have been sacked.
