    A 26-year-old Indian-origin man has been killed in a knife attack in Southall, west London, prompting a murder investigation by the Metropolitan Police.

    The victim, identified as Gurbhej Singh, was found with fatal stab injuries near the junction of North Road and Dormers Wells Lane shortly after midnight on Wednesday. Despite efforts by paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Police said a second man, believed to be in his 30s, was also injured during the incident. He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

    Officers were called to the scene by the London Ambulance Service following reports of a stabbing. Emergency responders found both injured men upon arrival.

    According to investigators, Singh was attacked outside a shop at around 12.30 am. Specialist officers are currently supporting his family as inquiries continue.

    Seven arrested, one remains under investigation

    Seven men, aged between their early 20s and late 30s, were initially arrested on suspicion of murder. Following further investigations, six were released without further action, while one suspect has been released on bail pending additional inquiries.

    Detectives have appealed for witnesses and anyone with CCTV footage from the area to come forward.

    Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell of the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command said investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding Singh’s death and urged members of the public with relevant information to assist the inquiry.

    Fundraiser launched for family

    Following the tragedy, a fundraising campaign has been launched to help cover the costs of repatriation, documentation, transportation and funeral arrangements.

    The fundraiser has already attracted significant support, raising more than €11,000 through hundreds of donations, with contributions continuing to come in from members of the community.
