Obey the traffic rules or pay through your nose

It is better to have a fear of a fine of Rs 5000 than to have a fear of getting killed at a traffic signal in the altercation that always results from an unwillingness to follow traffic rules

In the Southern USA, it was common until a century ago for a person to kill even his friend over an insult. The case would not normally go to court, and if it did, the man would be acquitted with such defence, “He would have killed me if I had not killed him.” And he would live happily after, as an Honourable man.

These men had come from the border regions of England Scotland border, and Scottish highlands. These two regions were lawless badlands for centuries and hence poor. Southern USA was also poorer than the North, and that is why lost the Civil War also.

We do not follow traffic laws and do not want to follow them in future either, that is why we are crying over fines.

It is amusing to see the chest-beating and wailing over traffic fines. The fines which are the easiest to avoid, all life, by just following the law. Simple law, that saves lives.

A lawless society, just as a corrupt society, has to necessarily remain poor. We wail over falling GDP, and simultaneously we wail over being asked to follow laws.

We do not follow traffic laws and do not want to follow them in future either, that is why we are crying over fines.

People kill each other every few months in Delhi, if not every few weeks, at traffic signals. All fights start with one or the other party unwilling to follow rules.

In my opinion, it is better to have a fear of a fine of Rs 5000 than to have a fear of getting killed at a traffic signal in the altercation that always results from an unwillingness to follow traffic rules.

And being law-bound and rich is always better than being lawless and hence poor. Living dangerously may be romantic, but it is always poor also.

  1. In Digital india can’t they check RC,License insurance puc from the system.
Instead harrassing individuals for forgetting to carry copies, they should focus in real offences

  2. Breaking the law and showing excessive ego. Go to Ahmedabad Baroda, Surat, potholed Mumbai. Story is the same. Let them pay and die who cares as such. You saw how Munde died. You saw how Jagjit Singh son died. Many more will die.
