PM Modi warns party leaders of nepotism: Parivarik politics will not be tolerated in the BJP

While addressing the first meeting of the BJP parliamentary party after its resounding victory in Assembly polls in four states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent out a strong message to BJP workers that ‘parivarik politics‘ will not be entertained in the party.

The Prime Minister took the responsibility of denying tickets to family members of MPs in the recent state polls and conveyed a strong message to BJP Members of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that nepotism would not be allowed in the party.

The meeting was held at the Ambedkar Bhawan in New Delhi. The BJP gained victory in 4 states Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Goa, and Uttarakhand Assembly elections.

The meeting was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Pralhad Joshi, and others also attended the meeting. PM Modi and J P Nadda were felicitated with garlands by other party leaders and congratulated them for the victory.

BJP sources said, “Prime Minister Modi told the MPs that if anyone’s family member was denied a ticket, it was his responsibility and that nepotism would not be allowed in the party. The BJP will fight against nepotism and dynasty politics in the other political parties.”

Referring to the recent Assembly polls, the Prime Minister said that the politics of caste is ending. “Prime Minister said that ‘jativaad ki rajneeti‘ (politics of caste) is coming to end,” a BJP MP said.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar briefed the BJP lawmakers about the ‘Operation Ganga‘ and Ukraine situation. The Prime Minister lauded the efforts of all those involved in the process to evacuate the Indian citizens.

Prime Minister Modi slammed the chief ministers of opposition-ruled states for politicizing the evacuation of Indian nationals from Ukraine. “Prime Minister said that instead of consoling people, chief ministers of opposition-ruled states are writing letters to the Centre to evacuate students from their state first. He also said that the only BJP has reached out to the family members of Indian citizens stranded in Ukraine,” another BJP MP said.

The BJP Parliamentary Party also paid tributes to singer Lata Mangeshkar, an Indian student killed in Ukraine, and Bajrang Dal activist Harsha who was assassinated in Karnataka by observing two minutes’ silence.
