Embassy urges Indians to remain indoors as tensions escalate amid US warnings

The Embassy of India in Iran has advised Indian nationals in Iran to stay where they are for the next 48 hours, as the security situation in the region worsens.

In its advisory, the embassy asked citizens to remain indoors, avoid unnecessary movement, and stay away from military or sensitive installations. It also cautioned against staying on upper floors of multi-storey buildings.

Indians told to stay in touch with embassy

The embassy said those staying in its designated hotels should remain inside and keep regular contact with officials on the ground.

The advisory comes amid growing fears of escalation following fresh warnings from Donald Trump.

Trump issues fresh warning to Iran

Trump issued a stark warning, saying a major escalation could unfold soon.

“A whole civilisation will die tonight… I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” he said in a post, adding that the situation could mark a turning point in global history.

The United States has been increasing pressure on Tehran over the ongoing conflict.

Iran suspends communication with US

Amid the rising tensions, Iran has reportedly cut off all diplomatic and indirect communication channels with the United States.

The move signals a further breakdown in relations, even as the conflict with Israel continues to intensify.

Fears of wider escalation grow

Recent weeks have seen sustained strikes on Iranian targets and growing instability in the region. Experts warn that any further escalation could have serious global consequences, especially with key routes like the Strait of Hormuz at the centre of tensions.
