Senior BJP leader and the main 2G Scam cases petitioner Subramanian Swamy urged Prime Minister (PM), Narendra Modi, to take effective steps to challenge the controversial 2G trial court judgment that acquitted all the accused. In his letter written soon after the trial court judgment on December 21, Swamy vented his anger against the former Attorney General (AG) Mukul Rohatgi, who represented many of the accused in 2G Scam before becoming AG for welcoming the judgment of the trial court.
On May 28, 2014, the day he declared that he was honored to accept Govt. of India’s offer to become AG in TV Channels[2], in the afternoon, he appeared for the accused Shahid Balwa in the trial court against the CBI[3].
Pointing out the dubious activities of Rohatgi, Swamy said that Rohatgi often went to Dubai in the company of lawbreakers and corrupt elements. In July 2016, PGurus had reported AG Rohatgi’s controversial trip with Rajeev Agarwal, once jailed for smuggling-related cases to Dubai. Agarwal was jailed by the Department of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in mid-2000. Now Rajeev along with his brother Sanjay Agarwal is running a law firm in Mumbai known as Prompt Legal Solutions Private Limited.
PGurus article published the flight manifest record of the then Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi traveling with Agarwal[1]. It is learned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had ordered Intelligence Bureau to probe this and the Intelligence sleuths confirmed it.
It must also be noted that before becoming AG, Rohatgi was appearing for many of the 2G accused such as Anil Ambani’s Reliance Telecom and its accused staffers, Shahid Balwa and others on various occasions, in trial courts to the Supreme Court, till mid-2014.
On May 28, 2014, the day he declared that he was honored to accept Govt. of India’s offer to become AG in TV Channels[2], in the afternoon, he appeared for the accused Shahid Balwa in the trial court against the CBI[3].
“You may recall that I had written several letters to you to point out that the appointment of Mr. Mukul Rohatgi as Attorney General for BJP Government was inconsistent with our commitment to fight corruption, and that he was often going to Dubai in the company of known law breakers and corrupt elements. Today by his remark whereby he has betrayed the Government, which appointed him as Attorney General, by supporting the judgment.
“In any case fighting corruption and rooting it was the plank of our 2014 election and in the 2018 Lok Sabha elections it will be an issue of accountability. I, therefore, urge you to take necessary steps to effectively challenge the judgment in higher court so that we can answer out critics in the next Lok Sabha election,” said Swamy seeking immediate appeal.

You have to decide first the correct name of the person about whom you are writing. The headline says, “Mukul Rohtagi” whereas elsewhere it is “Mukul Rohatgi”. Which is correct?
Why blame Rohatgi. He did not defend after becoming AG so how you blame him. And now he is not part of the Govt. So in his capacity as a common man he is entitled to his opinions. Swamy did you say the same
thing when Ram Jethmalani defended killers of PM and Lalu Prasad, Hajee Mastan Mirza etc. Jethmalani says
it is his duty as per loath taken when becoming a lawyer.

I fully concur with Dr Swamy who has taken Herculean efforts to flag this 2 G issue and get all licences cancelled by SC.The full blame for appointing Mukul as the AG squarely lies on PMs shoulder. Tax payers money has been used to pay salaries of this AG which is a gross injustice heaped by PM Modi on the citizens of India. DHARMA entails that the PM should ensure that officers under his government are person of honesty and integrity.He cannot escape responsibility by referring to other compulsions. Then PM Modis action will be termed no different than Manmohan who is notorious for coining the word “Coalition Dharma”.
I expect an immediate announcement by PM Modi to apologise to indian public for the bad decision of appointing Mukul and allow the full force of law with Higher courts on this greatest scam of my BELOVED BHARATH.
Why the Government does not do extensive background search of very important personnel to be appointed especially their political inclinations ? One cannot depend on others judgement. We all know that Congress Elites and Sonia had spread a very large cobweb in the Indian politics to trap persons to act as moles through monetary compensations in departments, just like Chaterjee in MMS PMO.

I mean internet, why make spelling and grammatical mistakes. Just because Swamy’s steno has typed
routing iso rooting you have also said the same thing. This is like the offiers in the Ministries scared to sign
the papers. When you have to say learnt, you say learned. Avoid such errors.
