Mamata Banerjee hits out at BJP, EC after Bengal defeat, vows comeback
Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday categorically refused to resign following her party’s defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections, alleging that the outcome was the result of a “conspiracy” rather than the will of the people.
Addressing a press conference after the results, the Trinamool Congress chief claimed that the elections were not conducted fairly and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of undue interference with the help of central agencies.
“No question of me resigning. We were defeated not by public mandate but by conspiracy,” Banerjee said.
Mamata alleges BJP interference, vows comeback
Banerjee alleged that central forces were used to influence the electoral outcome and claimed that the democratic process had been compromised.
“We fought like tigers and will bounce back. But this government’s direct interference is deeply concerning,” she said.
Despite the setback, she asserted that the party would regroup and stage a strong political comeback.

TMC plans action against Election Commission
The TMC chief also targeted the Election Commission of India, indicating that her party would initiate action against the poll body over alleged irregularities.
“We are taking action and will fight back. The strategy is confidential and will not be disclosed now,” she said.
Claims of intimidation, workers joining BJP
Banerjee further claimed that several party workers were being intimidated and forced to switch sides.
“I don’t mind if, for their safety, my party workers join the BJP,” she said, alleging threats on the ground.
Thanks INDIA bloc leaders for support
Banerjee expressed gratitude to leaders of the opposition alliance, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Hemant Soren and Tejashwi Yadav, for extending support after the results.
She hinted at future coordination within the INDIA bloc but did not elaborate on specific plans.
‘Power is not permanent’: Mamata’s warning to BJP
Issuing a warning to the BJP, Banerjee said political power is temporary and history has shown governments can be voted out.
She cited past administrations led by Rajiv Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh, adding that she had never witnessed what she described as “such atrocities.”

True to her conviction the government has been voted outby over 100 seats. In stead of accepting the defeat gracefully, the non-stop bitching about EC, ED CBI etc. only disgraces her further.
