[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]T[/dropcap]here is a stony silence from Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers on his sexcapade with a young colleague, who got elevated as a Statutory Body’s Chairperson. Kejriwal and a young lady colleague were exposed by their former colleague journalist Kapil Bajaj. He wrote a lengthy blog on October 5 and PGurus had published about the revelations in the blog on October 10.
It is not as if the personal life of politicians is off-limits for the media. It is based on many ifs and buts according to the stature of leaders and their power.
After PGurus published the contents of Kapil Bajaj’s blog, for two days Twitter trended #Aloo ridiculing Kejriwal, who was fondly called as Aloo by the young girl. Now four days have passed. No word, not a peep from either Kejriwal or any of the AAP leaders, especially the fast talking Ashutosh who had allegedly meticulously researched the sex life of Mahatma Gandhi! Even the troll army of AAP, which has thousands of committed cadre under the leadership of Ankit Lal is keeping quiet.
Kapil Bajaj’s blog is hardly discussed in any Mainstream Media (MSM). It is not as if the personal life of politicians is off-limits for the media. It is based on many ifs and buts according to the stature of leaders and their power. All media went overboard when N D Tiwari was caught on tapes with three women in Andhra Pradesh Raj Bhavan. But most kept quiet when a sex video of Abhishek Singhvi’s rendezvous with a lady advocate, who wanted to be a High Court Judge was leaked. The sex video had talks about the file movement on the appointment of judges including her. Due to his clout in Lutyens Delhi most media houses kept quiet.
[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]T[/dropcap]his mysterious silence of MSM about Kejriwal’s sexcapade is intriguing. Is it the advertisement power of the Delhi Government that is keeping a tight lid on this news story? Not even a rejoinder by AAP leaders came out against the blog of journalist Kapil Bajaj, who narrated what bedroom activities he had witnessed between Kejriwal and the young colleague. This revelation casts a harsh spotlight on the system. Do politicians demand sexual favours for offering posts to women? Is this a one-off incident or is this de rigueur for political appointments?
It is high time he (Kejriwal) walked the talk.
Kejriwal who tweets on any issue or slander or allegation asking – Is it true? – has gone into a shell like a tortoise. When will he or his AAP cadre speak on this exploitation of women in politics? When a CD of his minister Sandeep Kumar leaked, Kejriwal moved swiftly and removed the Minister forthwith. In the video above, at the very end, Kejriwal goes on to expound that anyone, including him will be removed if they did any ‘galat harkat’. This, he says, is what differentiates AAP from the other parties. It is high time he walked the talk.
