The suspension orders were issued by the MCD’s Vigilance Department on the instructions of the civic body’s commissioner, invoking the DMC Services (Control and Appeal) Regulations, 1959. The officials were suspended with immediate effect under Regulation 5(2) of these rules. They remain entitled to a subsistence allowance as permitted under service rules, and the orders were signed by Deputy Law Officer (Vigilance) Nand Kishore.
