School in South Delhi gets bomb threat via email
Authorities cordoned off a school in the Greater Kailash area of Delhi following an email threat claiming a bomb was planted on the premises.
Delhi Police responded swiftly after the school received the threatening email, which alleged that a bomb had been placed there the previous day. Legal measures have been initiated in response to the incident.
“An email was received at a school in Delhi’s Greater Kailash area, threatening to blow up the school with a bomb. It is written in the email that a bomb was planted in the school yesterday. Nothing has been found in the investigation so far, legal action initiated,” Delhi police said in a statement.
“A false bomb call was made in Summerfield, GK, South Delhi. Nothing was found on checking. The school has been evacuated and checked,” it added.
Police personnel continue to maintain vigilance and conduct thorough checks as part of ensuring the safety and security of the school and its surroundings.
The bomb threat comes just months after 150 schools in Delhi-NCR received a similar email suspected to have been sent from Hungary’s capital Budapest.
According to a Delhi Police official, the IP address of these emails has been traced to Budapest and Delhi Police will soon be contacting its counterpart in Hungary for further investigation.
