There is a village, 10 km away from the city/town, with no connecting roads. Constructing a road is an expensive affair, neither can the village afford it nor the city/town. It can be made only by the state/central government.
So, if the road is made, milk, vegetables and other essentials will be sold in the town every day. The income of the villagers will increase and the people in the town will get fresh fruits and vegetables at a cheaper rate. Children in the village can get educated in good institutions in the town. Villagers can get treated by a better doctor at the town. Small shops will open in the village where people can buy things without having to go to town. All these will improve economic activity which in turn will increase the tax ….. for the state/central government and the cost of the road constructed will be recovered.
Then people like Kejriwal and Uddhav come and say that the farmers are committing suicide their children are dying of hunger, stop the construction of road and instead feed them from that money. The construction of road stops, farmers get food for free and all their loans are waived. The farmers stop all their work and make new loans.
Kejriwal and Udhhav win the elections again but now new loans cant be waived off because there has been no economic activity lack of road. Then, Kejriwal and Uddhav take a bowl and beg the world like Imran Khan.

Every single person in this country is entitled to at least 100 days of employment. Rice/wheat for Rs 2/kg is guaranteed. Free education till 10th in a convent school is also guaranteed. Free treatment for up to Rs 5 lakhs is guaranteed too.
Yet every five years, people stand in the line of debt forgiveness and ask other things for free and people like Uddhav and Kejriwal also reach to give them, discontinuing important things like road construction.
