CNG variant of Celerio launched at Rs.6.58 lakh by Maruti Suzuki

Just after the recent launch of the new-generation Celerio petrol in November 2021, Maruti Suzuki has launched the factory-fitted CNG version of the same in the Indian market. The new Celerio is powered by the 1.0-liter, three-cylinder, K10C petrol engine.

The new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG has been launched in India today at Rs.6.58 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. It is offered in a sole VXivariant. The engine can generate 41.7kW of power at 5300 rpm (CNG Mode), and 48.0kW at 5500 rpm (Gasoline Mode). The car has a peak torque of 82.1 Nm in the CNG mode and 89Nm in the gasoline mode.

Maruti Suzuki has claimed that its S-CNG vehicles are equipped with dual interdependent ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and an intelligent injection system. As stated by the company, this technology is designed and developed for safety, convenience, engine durability, and superior mileage over the petrol version. Moreover, in terms of dimensions, the Celerio CNG measures 3,695mm in length, 1,555mm in height, and has a width of 1,655mm. The vehicle has a wheelbase of 2,435mm.

According to the company, the Celerio CNG has a certified mileage of 35.60 km/ kg, making it one of the most fuel-efficient CNG cars out there in the market.

The new Celerio is a 3D organic sculpted designed vehicle, which includes the radiant front grille with sharp chrome accents, droplet-styled taillamps, and 15-inch black alloy wheels the Celerio seems renewed from every angle.

Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki India, said, “Maruti Suzuki has been a pioneer in the country to offer factory-fitted CNG cars. We have the largest portfolio of eight green models on the road and have sold around 9.50 lakh S-CNG vehicles. With green mobility in focus, we have witnessed a 22 percent CAGR increase in our CNG sales in the past five years.”

He further added, “This is a testimony to the customers accepting technologically advanced, eco-friendly, and safe CNG mobility solutions. The launch of the all-new Celerio S-CNG will take us a step closer to our ambition of spearheading the mass adoption of green vehicles in India.”

Srivastava claimed that the company is confident that customers will appreciate the all-new Celerio S-CNG’s stellar fuel efficiency.”

The petrol version of the Celerio received a good welcome and had close to 25,000 bookings in just two months of its launch. With the launch of the all-new Celerio, the cumulative sales for Celerio have crossed 6,00,000 units.
