Upper Gang canal originates in Haridwar, is 440 km long in main channel, and 6400 km long in smaller channels taking off from it. It irrigates 9000 kms fertile land in ten districts of UP. It has Hydroelectric power houses, and even water-driven flour mills.
It was constructed between 1842 to 1854 that is during Company Raj. To educate engineers for it, Brits also established an Engineering College in Roorkee, which later became a University and is now an IIT.

I am in complete agreement with the Author. I congratulate Mr. Sree Iyer and his team for giving us such in-depth view of real History and dispel the lies floated by left and the anti-nationals. Mr Sree Iyer and his team are a team of very learned members and have absolute integrity, in-depth knowledge and are true Nationalist.
