West Asia crisis prompts PM Modi to convene urgent Cabinet Panel meet
Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened an emergency session of the Cabinet Committee on Security on Thursday to address the escalating crisis in West Asia. The meeting brought together key ministers, including the Home Minister, Defence Minister, foreign minister, Finance Minister, and National Security Adviser.
During the discussions, the committee expressed deep concern over the recent surge in hostilities in the Middle East, particularly following Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Israel. The members reviewed various implications of the ongoing conflict, focusing on its potential impact on trade, navigation, and supply chains, especially regarding the supply of oil and petroleum products.
The Indian government has emphasized the importance of diplomacy, urging all parties involved in the conflict to resolve their differences through dialogue. New Delhi reiterated that the crisis should not escalate into a broader regional conflict, highlighting the need for urgent action to stabilize the situation.
As tensions mount in West Asia, India’s leadership remains committed to monitoring developments closely and advocating for peace in the region.
