Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy wrote to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to draw his attention to Karti Chidambaram‘s company, Advantage Strategic Consulting Pvt. Ltd. (ASCPL), which has a Singapore subsidiary, Advantage Strategic Consulting Pvt. Ltd. (Singapore), which he alleged had received fees for unknown services (emphasis ours).

He added that ASCPL has been receiving foreign currency payments from about 21 companies (see list below) for which it has not filed any returns. This should be examined under Section 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act. He further urged the Prime Minister to expedite the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the Aircel Maxis scam, which seems to have stalled for unknown reasons. For more on the Aircel Maxis case, refer to Subramanian Swamy writes to the Prime Minister on P Chidambaram’s alleged machinations.

  1. It will be easy to figure out the true nature of consultancy fees received by Mr Karti’s company by asking him to furnish the following information
    1. The copy of the contract signed between the Consultancy company of KC and the company that received such services along with details of dates of delivery of consultancy services , copies of such reports, payment routes ( amount, date and bank details)
    2. The expenses incurred by KC ‘s companies in respect of manpower cost , details of such people employed ,receipts from such experts for the payments received from KC Companies which had hired them. Copies of such hiring contracts
    3. Affidavits from these 21 companies along with documentary evidence for the services rendered by KC’s overseas companies and payments made including copies of contracts for such consultancy services

It will be very easy to nail KC if there is a fair and independent investigation by a team of expert sleuths from multi disciplines such as Audit, Legal , IT and Engineering
