Trump 2.0 cabinet: Trump makes history with appointment of first-ever woman Chief of Staff

US President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday announced that his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, will become the first woman to hold the position of White House Chief of Staff.

In a statement following his decisive victory over Democrat Kamala Harris, Trump hailed Wiles’ pivotal role in his political success. “Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of both my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns,” Trump said. He went on to describe her as “tough, smart, innovative,” and emphasized that she is “universally admired and respected.”

Trump, 78, also expressed his pride in appointing Wiles to the prestigious role, calling it “a well-deserved honour.”

As the new White House Chief of Staff, Wiles will step into a critical role overseeing the executive branch’s day-to-day operations. He will be at the center of Trump’s policy agenda in his upcoming term.

Wiles, 67, has been a central figure in Trump’s campaign operations. She will now make history as the first female to serve as White House Chief of Staff.

“Susie Wiles has proven herself to be an outstanding political strategist, and this is a testament to her remarkable career,” Trump added in the statement.

Wiles, alongside fellow campaign manager Chris LaCivita, was instrumental in Trump’s victories in both the 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns. In a victory speech earlier this week, Trump even gave a shout-out to Wiles, affectionately calling her the “ice baby” for her cool demeanor and saying, “Susie likes to stay in the background.”

Trump’s Vice President-elect JD Vance also weighed in on the appointment, calling it “great news” and describing Wiles as a “huge asset” to the Trump team. “She will be a huge asset in the White House. She’s also just a really good person,” Vance said.

Who is Susie Wiles?

Born on May 14, 1957, Susie Wiles is the daughter of Pat Summerall, the legendary football player and sportscaster. A seasoned political strategist, Wiles has had a long and successful career in Florida politics. She was involved in Ronald Reagan’s 1980 presidential campaign and played a key role in helping Florida Governor Ron DeSantis win re-election in 2018.

Wiles also served as a senior adviser during Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns and briefly managed former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman Jr.’s 2012 presidential bid.

Throughout her career, Wiles has been known for her behind-the-scenes work and her ability to manage complex political operations, solidifying her reputation as a highly respected figure in American politics.

  1. She looks a determined & confident person. Need to flush out all Blue Demons in entire USA govt heirarchy….. Vivek Ramasamy should implement his original idea – to close entire office & recruit fresh.
