With recent military confrontations fuelling fears that the long-running shadow conflict could take a more dangerous turn
US President Donald Trump is reportedly facing a renewed security threat after Israel alerted American authorities to what it claims is a fresh Iranian plot to assassinate the former president. The alleged threat comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran following recent military strikes and a fragile diplomatic standoff.
According to Israeli media reports, intelligence shared with the United States suggests Iran may be attempting to revive plans targeting Trump, prompting a renewed assessment of his security arrangements.
Intelligence warning raises fresh security concerns
Israeli officials are said to have informed their US counterparts about intelligence indicating that elements linked to Iran could be exploring another assassination attempt against Trump.
While the specifics of the alleged plot have not been made public, reports suggest the intelligence prompted increased vigilance among US security agencies. Neither Washington nor Tehran has officially confirmed the claims.
Threat emerges amid escalating US-Iran tensions
The reported warning comes at a time when relations between the US and Iran remain deeply strained following recent military exchanges in the Middle East.
Tensions have intensified after US strikes on Iranian targets and Tehran’s retaliatory actions, fuelling concerns that the confrontation could spill beyond the region.
Trump has faced Iranian threats before
This is not the first time Trump has reportedly been the subject of Iranian assassination threats.
US intelligence agencies have previously alleged that Iran sought revenge over the 2020 killing of General Qasem Soleimani, an operation ordered during Trump’s presidency. Tehran has repeatedly vowed to hold those responsible accountable but has denied involvement in any assassination attempts.
No official confirmation yet
As of now, neither the White House nor US intelligence agencies have publicly confirmed the latest reports.
Israeli officials have also not disclosed evidence supporting the alleged plot, and the claims remain based on intelligence inputs that have not been independently verified.
