Arvind Kejriwal moves to his new address at 5, Feroze Shah Road
Arvind Kejriwal, national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Chief Minister of Delhi, vacated his official residence on Friday and relocated to a government bungalow on Feroze Shah Road in Lutyens’ Delhi.
Before the move, a formal prayer ceremony was held at the new residence, which is situated close to the AAP headquarters. This bungalow was previously allotted to Ashok Mittal, AAP’s Rajya Sabha member from Punjab.
Kejriwal’s former home, located in Civil Lines near the Delhi Assembly, was provided to him during his tenure as Chief Minister. On Friday, he moved out with his family and all his belongings, transitioning to the new government accommodation.
The new residence is located near Kejriwal’s constituency in New Delhi. He will stay in this house, typically reserved for Members of Parliament, until the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections are concluded.
After his release, he announced his resignation, citing the inability to work amid serious allegations. He expressed his intention to seek public judgment on his integrity, stating that he would only return to office after earning a “certificate of honesty” from the electorate.
In the wake of his resignation, Kejriwal’s team actively searched for a new residence, with numerous AAP leaders, including councillors and MLAs, offering their homes. Ultimately, AAP MP Ashok Mittal extended his government-allotted accommodation to Kejriwal.
Additionally, following his own departure from official housing, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has moved into the residence of AAP MP Harbhajan Singh.
After Sisodia’s arrest in connection with the liquor policy case, his former official bungalow was reassigned to current Delhi Chief Minister Atishi.
