[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]T[/dropcap]he winter session of the Indian Parliament which concluded on Friday, December 16, 2016, was a total washout. What was termed as a protest by the Opposition towards the demonetisation of high value currency notes announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 8 through a special address to the nation turned out to be a free for all by the Congress, the Trinamool Congress and as usual the Lefts playing second fiddle to the main protagonists.
What one saw in these two channels were the free-for-all actions by the Congress and other Opposition members.
From Day One of the session, the Congress claimed from all rooftops in the country that the Opposition was not being allowed to speak in both the Houses. They went on a misinformation blitzkrieg accusing the government of gagging them and not allowing them to open their mouths in both the Houses. The satellite TV channels, English, Hindi and regional channels have been bought over by the Congress, the TMC and the Lefts to unleash a campaign against the Narendra Modi government. They forgot the fact that the entire country was watching their action in both the Houses “live” through the Rajya Sabha TV and Lok Sabha TV.
What one saw in these two channels were the free-for-all actions by the Congress and other Opposition members. The Congress and other opposition parties walked away with the “laurels” by abusing the government in the cruellest form of sarcasm. In the Rajya Sabha, the Congress and the CPI-M, got full support from the vice chairman P J Kurien, whom the CPI-M taunts by addressing him as Suryanelli Kurien, ostensibly targeting him for his sexcapades in the Suryanelli sex scam of Kerala.
While the leader of the Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh spoke in the House, there was total silence as the entire House. Everyone including the Prime Minister Modi sat listening in rapt attention to the former Prime Minister, a self-styled economist. Even when he accused and charged that the demonetisation was a monumental failure, the treasury benches did not react in the hope that they would get a chance to counter the Sardarji’s argument. But what happened is that the government was not allowed to open its mouth even once to counter the charges by the Congress or the Lefts.
[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]A[/dropcap] disgusted President Pranab Mukherjee, had to remind the Opposition about its responsibilities while addressing a meeting. But the Indian Left Leaning Liberal (L3) media chose to blackout the speech of the President in which he disapproved the style adopted by the Congress and other opposition leaders without naming anybody.
At no point of time either Rahul Gandhi or anyone from the Opposition had been denied the right to speak in Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha.
What happened on December 16 was amusing. Rahul Gandhi has been charging that the Prime Minister was not allowing him to speak in Lok Sabha because the former was privy to certain sensitive information. “If I open my mouth, there would be an earthquake in the country and the government would fall,” Rahul Gandhi had thundered in a press meet. But the prince in waiting did not open his mouth even once and chose to be away from the House on the concluding day. The mother-son duo was upset over reports appearing in a section of the media that Sonia Gandhi and family had been paid Rs.140 crores as bribe by the AgustaWestland Helicopter Company.
At no point of time either Rahul Gandhi or anyone from the Opposition had been denied the right to speak in Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha. Team PGurus has been closely watching the live proceedings of both Houses of Parliament. Within days of the commencement of the winter session, Team PGurus, whose members meticulously watched the live proceedings of both Houses thanks to the Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV, had revealed that there is a deep rooted conspiracy against the NDA-government led by Prime Minister Modi which took office in May 2014.
The frequent disruptions of both the Houses of the Parliament for non-issues are sufficient proof to substantiate the findings of Team PGurus. If a thorough probe is ordered into the reasons and factors behind the disruptions of the proceedings, the Opposition in both the Houses would be caught with their pants down. There are no reasons for the hold ups in Parliament except the fact that the Congress and their intellectual cousins, the Lefts, are in denial and yet to comprehend the fact that the BJP got absolute majority in the 2014 Lok Sabha election.

In Rajya Sabha, the treasury benches are incapacitated because the Opposition appears to have the secret support of the Deputy Chairman of the House Kurien…
But the Opposition parties in both houses, led by tottering mother-son duo, are instigating and inspiring their aides to disrupt the proceedings of the House.
There is a proverb in Malayalam. Eshtamallatha Achi Thottathokke Kuttam. It is Malayalam for “One will always find fault with his wife for whom one has only hatred”. Whatever she does, the husband will find fault with it. This is in synchronisation with what is happening in both House of Parliament. The Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan is too democratic and too accommodative. In fact she is the embodiment of motherhood, patience, understanding and kindness. But the Leader of the Opposition, known only for his servility to the Madam at 10, Janpath, is the only leader who does not get along with her. In his home town, the LOP, an advocate by training, is known as Sunday Lawyer, as all courts remain closed on Sundays.
The present cacophony in Parliament, according to the Congress and their close acolytes the Lefts, is due to the Government’s reluctance to discuss the issue of demonetisation of the high value currency notes. But the Government’s spokespersons, Union Ministers Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Ananth Kumar have been making statements after statements that the government is always willing for a debate, discussion and dialogue. But the Opposition parties in both houses, led by tottering mother-son duo, are instigating and inspiring their aides to disrupt the proceedings of the House.
The fact that the son’s outbursts have been questioned is nothing new. Nothing less could be expected out of the progeny of a former Prime Minister whose speech “Hum Apne Virodhiyon ko unki nani yaad dila denge” still echoes in the ears of the people who keep track of the jinxed family in Indian politics. The mother once described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “Maut Ka Saudagar” (Merchant of Death). Her husband explained away the pogrom against Sikhs in Delhi saying that the ground is bound to shake when a big tree falls. Any doubts? Ask the members of the Sikh community in New Delhi.
Neither the Congress nor the Lefts and the Behenji of Lucknow want the country to progress because a developed nation would put them out of business for obvious reasons. Prime Minister of the country is an institution and all these purblind, parochial politicians are interested in is to stall, stall, stall and when elections come accuse the PM of inaction.

The Hindu, a pro-CPI-M daily, published from Chennai has a picture in page 11. Take a look at it. Does any one of the leaders look worried or depressed because of the state of affairs in the country? Sitaram Yechury, the flamboyant general secretary of the CPI-M, Sharad Yadav, the JD-U leader who has not been given any jobs or positions of power by his boss Nitish Kumar, the TMC leader with salt and pepper beard, all look like enjoying a cool breeze and bantering about something interesting lying ahead as the evening turns dark..
Instead of holding the country to ransom by disrupting the Parliament, the Congress under Rahul Gandhi should come forward to expose the corruption charges.
The grandmother butchered democracy and belittled parliament. The daughter-in-law and the grandson together made a mockery of democracy. Does anyone remember P Upendra, the then Opposition member in Rajya Sabha who got up and said “Honourable Prime Minister, welcome to India” when the globetrotting Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi came to the House some time in 1988?
On December 16, a delegation of Congress leaders led by Rahul Gandhi, called on Prime Minister Modi in the latter’s office in the Parliament. The Congress did not allow any other Opposition party leaders to accompany the delegation.
What transpired in the meeting which the Congress wanted to hide from other Opposition members?
Interestingly, the Lok Sabha which had adjourned earlier in the day had a trouble free session after the meeting the Congress leaders had with the Prime Minister. Was there any deal?
Why the other Opposition party leaders cried off from the delegation led by Rahul Gandhi which called on President Mukherjee to plead with him to intervene and ask the government to sort out the currency shortage plaguing the country?
Is the Congress upset over the media reports on Augusta pay off? Why Rahul Gandhi is silent about the explosive information which he claims he has under his possession? Let him open up… If the government is corrupt, it has to go. There is no reason for a corrupt government to be in place. For that to happen, Rahul Gandhi should open up. If only he exposes the misdeeds, omissions and commissions, the country could think of voting him in as Prime Minister.
Instead of holding the country to ransom by disrupting the Parliament, the Congress under Rahul Gandhi should come forward to expose the corruption charges. If he has the evidence with him, let Rahul Gandhi cause an earthquake and the people in India would cause another earthquake of double magnitude which would save India once and for ever. Rahul, the responsibility is with you. Go ahead, make our day!

A good observation.
A statistical analysis on who walked into well the most during the session (Individual, party wise), would substantiate the obvious.
Country unfortunately chose democracy while people weren’t matured to handle democracy. The power of vote is unknown to majority of Indians who have resorted to selling it every 5 years.
No doubt, as people so would be the king.
While Team PGurus must be lauded for an excellent and objective report that conclusively proves the Congress-lef Opposition as guilty of de-democratisation of our temple of democracy, the real guilty ones are the the two Speakers of the two Houses of Parliament. They kept mum even as disruptions led to adjournment after adjournment. Instead, each of the two in the Chair controlling the functioning of our Parliament should have strictly implemented the rules laid down for preventing commotion. If they had done, so, we would have had suspension after suspension of various Members in each House, and we would have had a smoothly functioning Parliament. What is the use of these score and more of Rules if they are to be ignored? If these Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha do not have the guts to do so strictly, is it not high time to have retired High Court Chiefs to take their place instead?
