Rahul Gandhi suspects ED raid against him after ‘Chakravyuh’ speech
Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi late at night at 1:52 am (August 2) claimed that an Enforcement Directorate (ED) is planning to raid him after his ‘chakravyuh‘ speech in Parliament. “Apparently, 2 in 1 didn’t like my Chakravyuh speech. ED ‘insiders’ tell me a raid is being planned. Waiting with open arms @dir_ed …..Chai and biscuits on me,” said Rahul in X post in the wee hours.

Interesting is that in which case ED going to raid Rahul Gandhi? Only in the National Herald case, Rahul and his mother Sonia Gandhi are facing the ED case. The ED case is based on the case filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy and both mother and son were questioned by the anti-money laundering agency for five days each in 2023. ED has not yet filed a chargesheet against Sonia and Rahul and the case is still in the further probe status. Till filing the chargesheet, ED can any time again question, raid, or arrest Sonia and Rahul.
To date no agency probed the role of Sonia and Rahul in land grabbing, acquiring assets in the US and London, and related money laundering cases against Robert Vadra. Even Vadra’s wife Priyanka is not questioned by the agencies, though she was a Director in Robert Vadra’s companies involved in land grabbing money laundering, and acquiring assets abroad. Is ED planning to question Rahul Gandhi on Vadra’s assets amassment, land grabbing, and money laundering cases?
Rahul Gandhi is also facing a probe by the Union Home Ministry on self-claimed British Citizenship on the complaint filed by Subramanian Swamy. After sending a show cause notice to Rahul Gandhi in April 2019, the Union Ministry has not moved an inch in this regard and ED has no role in this case. In citizenship-related case, only the Union Home Ministry can act and not even the courts.[1]
The rest of the cases Rahul Gandhi is facing are only defamation-related cases and the Enforcement Directorate has no role in these cases. It is curious why in the wee hours (1:52 am) Rahul Gandhi claimed about the forthcoming ED raids through a post on Social Media? Seen a nightmare after visiting landslide areas in Wayanad or actually any “ED insiders” come to meet in the wee hours? Or ED is going to chargesheet Rahul and his mother Sonia in the National Herald case or question the links in Robert Vadra’s money trails?
