[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]P[/dropcap]resident Pranab Mukherjee has ordered an inquiry against Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) VC Zameeruddin Shah. The President’s action came after the Human Resource Development Ministry’s recommendation to launch an inquiry into allegations of financial and administrative impropriety against Shah.
Shah and AMU and Government are already facing Supreme Court notice for his lack of academic qualification in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by noted lawyer Prashant Bhushan.
PGurus have published a series of articles, based on the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG)’s findings of malpractices in AMU and financial bungling of VC, who is well protected by pseudo secularist lobbies in Delhi, including certain media houses due to the advertisement largesse. Moreover many journalists are the alumni of the AMU were perhaps giving protective cover by hushing up the malpractices in the University.
PGurus published with proof several illegalities in the university and improprieties by the VC. We have reported how Shah had bungled donations and jewels received as donation during his trips abroad and his unauthorised foreign jaunts. Violations in civil contracts and purchases for construction in museum, illegalities in appointments and violations in distant education programmes etc. were widely reported by PGurus. Several complaints were sent to the HRD Ministry, CBI and President citing our reports and AMU Teachers Union were up in arms against the Army Officer turned Vice Chancellor.
Shah and AMU and Government are already facing Supreme Court notice for his lack of academic qualification in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by noted lawyer Prashant Bhushan. Retired Army Officer Shah was appointed by UPA Government in May 2012, ignoring academic qualifications. He facilitated entry of some friendly army officers in the University posts also.
The HRD Ministry is expected to first issue a show cause to the VC seeking an explanation on why an inquiry should not be instituted to look into complaints of financial, administrative and academic irregularities. If dissatisfied with the response, the HRD Ministry will launch a formal probe. It is expected that Shah may resign, before the probe starts in the Ministry level. But the question is whether Ministry will recommend a CBI probe or not or provide an escape route to Shah by resigning.

The VC is the elder brother of actor Naseeruddin Shah,who of late also spat venom against the nation.So much for the country which gave them name,fame,money & respectable life in the society.
