The 31-year-old has been doing the job for the last three years alongside his career as a historical fiction writer.

He says that his clients vary from busy young families to older pensioners and sometimes he has been waiting in the freezing cold in the dead of winter, but the summer is his busiest period when big events and exhibitions are on.

He’s also happy to get paid to: look after pets, pack, help with house moves, run errands and take part in a spot of gardening. Beckitt advertises his skills on TaskRabbit.
