Below is the transcript of the speech by Sree Iyer on the occasion of the release of his book, NDTV Frauds in Bengaluru.
Respected Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament Dr. Subramanian Swamy, TV Commentator and Author Prof. R Vaidyanathan, National General Secretary of VHS Shri Jagdishji, President of VHS Karnataka Nikunj Shahji, Suresh ji, Shakuntala Iyer-ji, Members of VHS and dear friends –
Weekend time is precious and I thank you all for the making the time to come here. I am sure you are looking forward to some excellent speeches by Prof. R Vaidyanathan and Dr. Subramanian Swamy, given the speed at which events have been folding in the past few days.
I see many familiar faces here and some of you may have even contributed articles to PGurus. For those, who don’t know me, a quick introduction about myself – I am an inventor, with over 37 patents. My patents are in the fields of Hardware, Software and Encryption. I am based in the Silicon Valley, in the USA and the Editor of PGurus.com. In PGurus we cover four aspects of India – its Politics, its Business, its Culture and its investment climate. I started this site because I felt that the world needed a correct view of what was happening in India. The slant I saw in India’s media also made its presence in the media in the West too. You all know who I am talking about. Nothing gives NRIs more pleasure than wishing the best for their Janmabhoomi and Karmabhoomi. You are already seen many of NRIs doing things similar to what I am doing. I assure you, this trickle is going to turn into a flood.
In the minds of the general public there is a space and respect for media. Using the halo of journalism, media owners just misuse this position and in the end degrade the values of journalism. On several occasions media became the tool of false propaganda, blackmailing and illegal money making with the blessing of uncouth politicians and corporate icons with hidden agendas. This should be exposed and that is the reason for this book.
The Honest Government Officer is becoming an endangered species and this book is a tribute to them.
The crucial question that comes up again and again on Social Media to our corruption posts is that:
- Nothing will happen, the rich, corrupt individuals will never be sent to jail. This despite the arrests in 2G scam and the Disproportionate Assets case.
- Even when there is compelling evidence, nothing ever happens to the rich business person. There is always a loophole to exploit.
I am very confident that in the days and weeks to come, the guilty will be brought to book. Why you ask? It has been proved time and again that one man can make a difference.
My sincere thanks to VHS Karnataka for hosting this program. A lot of hard work went into planning this event and I am very grateful to them.
My sincere thanks to Dr. Swamy for releasing my book in 5 different locations – London, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru. His mentorship and inspiration has been vital to the writing of this book.
Remember the catch phrase in James Bond movies? I will have a martini – shaken not stirred.
In my opinion, Dr. Swamy likes his coffee filtered and leaves his detractors shaken and stirred.
See his dedication to the cause of the nation – On Thursday evening, he came straight from the Rajya Sabha to give the talk in Mumbai only to take an evening flight back. The following day, Dr. Swamy appeared in the Supreme Court re: the Ram Mandir case then he took the next available flight to Chennai. Who is paying him for all this troubles? Bhagwan Ram? No! It is his love for his country and his firm belief that India can rise above all its differences to build the Ram Mandir.
His VHS initiative has drawn many of us to follow his vision of creating an India that can show the world that Spirituality and placing Happiness above everything else in life is what matters. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – This is on my Twitter profile and I wrote this in 2012. The world is one small family.
