SARS CoV: Background
Coronaviruses are common in bats and the early 2000s outbreak was established to have spread from bats to civets and then to humans in a wet market in China. Whereas MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) originated in bats and transferred to camels and then to humans in around 2011. However, since more than 15 months later it has not been established as to how the SARS COVID-19 virus spread from bats with or without an intermediary host via a wet market in Wuhan, China to the rest of the world[1].
Science and Genetics
Viral genomes indicated that this is a beta-Coronavirus similar to SARS-1 and MERS virus. Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) conducted the ‘gain of function’ at the cost of $600,000.00 US taxpayer-funded National Institute of Health (NIH)-National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) grant to EcoHealth Alliance of New York headed by Dr Peter Daszak and North Carolina-based Dr Ralph Baric. Dr Daszak wrote an article in Lancet providing support to the Chinese scientists and research in Wuhan Institute of Virology without mentioning the conflict of interest about the funding received from EHA NY to WIV Wuhan China[2][3].
On 17 March 2020, a group of eminent scientists from Scripps Institute headed by Dr Kristian Andersen wrote an opinion piece letter to state that COVID-19 (SARS CoV) could not be constructed in a laboratory and manipulated[4]. The rationale or reasoning is that the spike protein in the SARS COVID-19 virus could not be constructed to attach itself to the binding site of a human ACE2 receptor. The spike protein from other Coronaviruses can be implanted into the genome and replicated since the viral RNA (Ribonucleic acid) sends the signal for increased (spike) protein production leading to increased viral production, resulting in its rapid spread and virulence. This was what the Gain of Function study that was conducted in WIV from 2014-2019 by Dr Shi Li-Zhengli aka the ‘Bat Lady’ had said. The morphological study and characterization have revealed that this COVID-19 virus’s size and shape is nearly 15-20X (300-500 nm) the size of normal Coronaviruses and the shelf life to stay alive about 72 hours outside the human body vs normal Coronavirus of a maximum of 3 hours.
Mechanism of Spread: Airborne
Although initially the virus was thought to have spread by surface contact, it was established later in Q1-2020 after nearly more than 1 year of WHO’s findings that surface transmission is very minimal and that aerosol or airborne way is the most effective way to spread this SARS CoV. Hence mask mandate is critical in controlling the rate of transmission via air. Fast forward to Feb 2021 when the WHO (World Health Organization) on a fact-finding mission to WIV in China came up empty-handed in its effort to establish a linkage between a bat to an intermediary host as done earlier with SARS 1 (avian flu) or SARS 2 swine flu in 2008 or camel in MERS 2011[5].
Gain of Function Study
Dr Shi Li-Zhengli aka ‘Bat Lady’ of WVI along with research funding from University of North Carolina Dr Ralph Baric concluded that they were successful in their experimental trials of reconstructing a novel Coronavirus using gene-splicing technology where the spike protein which has the capability to bind with ACE2 receptor in human beings was demonstrated to have been constructed in a lab called chimeric viruses. Dr Shi conducted from 2014-2019 and had published literature where more than 11 gain of function studies with Coronaviruses were conducted and produced very infection results prior to COVID-19 SARS2 virus.
Additionally, in vivo experiments demonstrate replication of the chimeric virus in mouse lung with notable pathogenesis. Evaluation of available SARS-based immune-therapeutic and prophylactic modalities revealed poor efficacy; both monoclonal antibody and vaccine approach failed to neutralize and protect from infection with CoVs using the novel spike protein. On the basis of these findings, we synthetically re-derived an infectious full-length SHC014 (SARS-like Coronavirus which infects horseshoe bats) recombinant virus.
The chimeric virus is created in the lab by taking two or more Coronavirus genomes to create a Super Virus which is capable of launching infections in mouse lungs and highly emerging in human[6]s. This study is called ‘gain of function’ where the gain of conducting such a study is similar to the failure mode analysis and control strategy in a manufacturing process. If there was an accidental lab leakage or a rogue scientist/ researcher accidentally transferred the infection of the host animal to a human? The smoking gun is that three or more scientists and researchers at WIV feel ill and an unreported number could have died[7].
Dr Shi et al WIV was funded by EcoHealth Alliance whose parent grant was sanctioned by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases underwritten by the National Institute of Health (NIH) Gain of function trials were conducted at the behest of Dr Daszak at Ecohealth Alliance and Dr Ralph S Baric from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill (UNC). Basically, to break it down, Dr Shi at WIV created the most virulent form of Coronavirus using spike protein that can attach to the target organ and published results as a gain of function which was summarized by Dr Daszak “untreatable with therapeutic monoclonal antibody treatment and against vaccines (Watch the video below).”
Gone with the Wind: SAFETY
In addition, the Coronavirus safety classification at WIV was Bio-Safety Level II (BSL2) class and is at a lower intermediary stage in the safety totem pole and equivalent to the precautions one takes at a dentist hygienist office as compared to BSL4 which is the highest level safety of classification.
Bat viruses of SARS COVID-19 were identified in Yunnan about 1000 miles (1500 km) from Wuhan but the first reported incidence in humans occurred during 2019. How these bats were able to migrate and fly to infect people in the geographic vicinity of Wuhan needs further investigation? In addition, the WHO investigator who went on-site to conduct a root cause analysis investigation was given the run around with red herring-like material and most of the viral gain of function studies data were missing. Gain of study is “any research that improves the ability of a pathogen to cause disease.”[8]
Follow the money: Breadcrumbs
EcoHealth Alliance, a not-for-profit organization received the NIAID grant which was underwritten by NIH[9], which outsourced this dangerous gain of function studies to WIV from June 2014 – May 2019. Then the Chinese wall of silence and inconclusive outcome of the root cause analysis.[10]
Also in 2017, Dr Baric of UNC was awarded a grant for more than $6 million from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) to accelerate the development of a promising new drug in the fight against deadly Coronaviruses.[11]
On May 11, 2021, Dr Anthony Fauci stated categorically in the US Senate hearing that NIAID & NIH did not fund the Gain of study function at WIV which is correct and equivalent to President Nixon telling he did not order or fund the burglars to break into Watergate hotel in Washington DC. This was done via Nixon’s hatchet man who ‘outsourced’ it to the “plumbers”.
Conclusion
The truth needs to be told to the world. Dr Anthony Fauci needs to come clean and accept total responsibility for this Gain of Function study which the US mainstream media was relatively silent for more than 1 year has only now started to wake up due to the explosive nature of duplicity by NIH-NIAID. On a global scale, China has demonstrated its ability to develop and deploy a biological weapon is a typical inscrutable Chinese way of announcing that it is not a unipolar world and a challenger to the last 30 years of United States hegemony has arrived.
